CHAPTER 5: THE PARTY

"Ted this party is great, but how did we get invited? Its kind of odd that we
never came to a party like this one before?"

"Micah, its just a few of my colleagues from the lab."

"So you put this together yourself so I could meet your colleagues?"

"No, not exactly. Look, there's Ed trying to fix his tie!"

Ed mumbles and continues to desperately fix his tie.

"Don't pay attention to him, he mumbles most of the time. Oh look, the
band is beginning to play the Ted Challenge, lets join in before they get started!"

"Hey look its Ted, get him up on stage and give him a banjo," said one of the
the band as he jumped off of the stage and walked up to Ted.

"All right Jim have it your way, but I know the outcome. Hand me the one with
my name carved in it."

    "You heard Ted!"

As Ted walks on-stage, the drummer tosses the banjo towards Ted. Ted flips
across the stage, catches the banjo in mid- flip and begins to play.

    "Micah come on!"

"Ted I really couldn't, not with you up there."

"Oh come on Micah, it's easy. You can drop out any time you like!"

    "Ted I couldn't. Absolutely not!"

"Come on, its fun. Its not so hard!"

CHAPTER 6: TWENTY YEARS LATER

Thus far for thirteen times in a row I had won the Ted Challenge. Tonight four
people were challenging me. Everyone turned to face in our direction, we began.
Building momentum, the band and we four began the challenge. After the first
twenty minutes, we lost one opponent and three band members. The second
dancer soon gave out after a long and hard twenty-five minutes. Two dancers and
three musicians were left after thirty minutes. After thirty-seven muinutes, I was
the only one dancing and Ted the only one playing. The finale was excellent, and
our trophies were put on display.

Exhausted, we walked past the display shelf remembering our victories of
immense endurance. Packing the car, we began our hard and tiresome trip back
to TedCastle. Several miles out of town we didn't expect what was getting ready
to happen.

Suddenly Ted's car stalls and a beam of light shoots down into the car. Blowing
the car to bits, the light disappears leaving shards of the car behind.

I was dreaming. I was sure that something had happened, but I wasn't sure. Ted
was somewhere, but where? Waking from this terrible intuition, I began to see a
blurry world. My true surroundings came into focus.

An odd half man, half mechanical body was sitting in an identical chair next to
mine. On closer inspection... Better not, the face was frightening enough. It looked
like Ted, or something posing as him. Knowing my way around with robotics, I soon
finished what I knew to be Ted. I would keep this a secret from him when he wakes.
I'm sure he'd know, but I couldn't let him know that I knew. Nudging him, he groaned
and woke up.

"What is it Micah? Where are we?"

"I don't know, but it sounds as like someone outside is fighting."

"Welcome gentlemen," said Ricky walking in and greeting us, "I'm going to bring
you up to date on what's been happening."

    "Where are we?"

"You're on Tedland in the year 3098. We've gone through seven wars, and
TedCastle has just reappeared. We need your help in removing a certain artifact
from the Mountain of Darkness before it kills us all. I'm sure that you know about
the dark mountain from your time? I'll fill your death."

"Excuse me, since we died? I don't think we died, did we Ted?"

    "I'm not sure?"

CHAPTER 7: THE DARK MOUNTAIN

The dark mountain had been around since the first of us had landed on the
planet. It was the only place where none of us could go. The only other way to
it was through some kind of gate, a mysterious pool called the space-gate.

"Do you still have the space-gate?"

"Yes, but we haven't figured out how to work it."

    "Micah."

    "What Ted?"

    "I've figured it out!"

    "Well?"

"Push that stone, and jump aside."

At that, Ted disappears through the gate and jumps out several seconds later.

Ted has never acted like this before. He has sent me to Scotland with one of
my old friends until he returns from wherever he is going. I have beliefs that he is
going in search of Bigbunny. I would be staying with a friend named Dr. Olga
Damsea. I knew why Ted had left, his love Bigbunny was dead and he had to
search for her body. A year went by before Ted came to pick us up. He had found
her body. We began the journey back to Tedland where the funeral would be held.

"Ted this party is great, but how did we get invited? Its kind of odd that we
never came to a party like this one before?"

CHAPTER 8: THIRTY YEARS LATER

Today was Bigbunny's burial, and Ted was deperately trying hard not to cry.
She had been very close to us all, and we were all taking it very hard. When we
arrived at the graveyard, Ted began setting up the podium and chairs in front of
it. The family and friends arrived an hour later. Ted began the death ritual, singing
slow and loud.

"Go forth lost friend to find the light. Let light be life and may it shine
forever. We all shall miss you now that you're gone..."

He lay down next to her grave, began to sob, and never finished the verse.
Ted fell into a miserable condition I couldn't pull him out of. He continually
locked himself in his workshop afterward, never smiling or talking to anyone,
always lost in his sorrow. He continued this until there was nothing left except
a hollow being. Bigbunny meant everything to him, even his work. One day a
roaring noise erupted from his workshop, and he was gone.

CHAPTER 9: THE END

The dream began. I would be at my desk in a darkened room thinking. A dark
figure would float towards me. I would notice it begin to change. Stretching and
distorting into a being I knew very well. Bigbunny... All I wanted was to find peace
in my misery. Now something wanted to drive me insane.
